08 May Metro of Quito, in Ecuador
The Quito Metro is the largest mobility project the city has undertaken in its history.
The Quito Metro will be the underground public transport network of the city of Quito, capital of Ecuador, and will be operational by the end of 2019. Until this year, the Ecuadorian capital did not have this service. The Quito Metro is one of the largest infrastructure projects in the country and will have an enormous impact on the operation of the capital by becoming the backbone of the public transportation system.
22 kilometers in length and 15 stations are contemplated around the city, being able to transfer around 400,000 people daily. Plastic Matilla supports this project by providing skylights so that the Metro, based on a dark space, becomes a luminous space and thus help Quito to develop.
